The demand for these technologies is driven by the need for realistic training environments, improved situational awareness, and efficient remote collaboration. As agencies modernize, immersive solutions are becoming integral to workforce development, simulation, and mission planning.
Challenges: Major challenges faced by federal agencies include limited access to realistic training scenarios, high costs associated with physical simulations, and difficulties in remote collaboration. Requirements: Preferred technical solutions may employ or include advanced Virtual, Mixed, Extended, or Augmented Reality platforms with secure data integration, real-time collaboration, and high-fidelity simulation capabilities. Solutions must be compatible with existing government IT infrastructure and adhere to federal cybersecurity standards. Interoperability with legacy systems and scalability for multi-user environments are essential.
Characteristics: Solutions should provide or enable intuitive user interfaces, seamless integration with agency workflows, and robust analytics for performance assessment.
