Private Public Partnerships Solve Large Scale Problems
When it comes to applying advances in technology to create innovation, a lot of the low hanging fruit has already been plucked and there’s even more folks crowding round the base of the tree. So going forward, it becomes necessary to invest time, energy, and money into solving the more challenging and larger-scale problems. While having the potential for even greater overall impact, these larger-scale problems are indeed harder to solve.
Innovations that effectively address the big challenges in both business and government are more likely to arise from multidisciplinary teams which tap policy, business and technology experience. What does this have to do with us? In a word, partnerships!
In recent years, public private partnerships that bring together business, academic, and government stakeholders have become increasingly important to efforts to drive innovation. There are prime examples in biotech, healthcare, education, energy and other industries where transformative partnerships have been forged to drive the adoption of new technology; and to help close “innovation gaps” stemming from increased costs, decreased productivity, poor performance, or unmet needs.
