HHS rural health research grant available through AHRQ (Agency for
Healthcare Research Quality). Funding ranges are $100K-$1.25M.


Summary of Activities/Tasks:
1.April 11, 2016 – Spoke with University of Washington School of Medicine
in Seattle and WWAMI consortium director regarding grant application and
research collaboration. Other states that partner with Washington are
Wyoming, Alaska, Montana and Idaho (WWAMI).

2. April 11, 2016 – Sent LOI to AHRQ.

3. April 7, 2015 – Began outlining research aims for RPM diabetes funding
application for low-income, at-risk groups.

4. February 5, 2016 – Spoke to HHS to validate the appropriateness of our
proposed RPM research application to AHRQ.


Forward Statements and Guidance:
WWAMI is holding a committee meeting on 4/27/2016 and will discuss our
collaboration. There are stong indications that WWAMI will affirm its
interest in collaborating on an AHRQ research funding application. Expect
have additional details by 4/29/2016. First application deadline is
6/6/2016. Additional AHRQ funding mechanisms are also available with
funding deadlines of 6/16/2016 and 10/16/2016.
